Both Adults and Juniors perform at the 10 AM services on Sundays, starting with a music preparation and warm-up session at 9:30 AM. They also participate in major festivals. Rehearsals for Juniors are held every Friday from 6:30 PM to 7:15 PM, followed by Adult rehearsals from 7:30 PM to 8:30 PM in the church vestry, reverting back to face to face in the Spring, normally when the clocks go forward.
This rehearsal schedule continues through the spring and summer terms. After the October half-term, Adult Choir rehearsals will take place online via Zoom on Fridays from 7:30 PM to 8:30 PM, and Juniors will practice on Sundays after Mass from 11:30 AM to 12 PM.
Juniors transition to the Adult Choir at the end of Year 9 or when boys experience a voice change.
The Junior Choir includes girls and boys aged 7 to 14 years. Comprehensive training is provided, following the RSCM’s Voice for Life scheme, which includes the RSCM Bronze, Silver, and Gold Awards. We take pride in our Gold Award holders, as this highest Voice for Life achievement requires candidates to demonstrate exceptional loyalty, dedication, and musicianship, culminating in a one-on-one examination with extensive written preparation.
Juniors typically sing at the 10 AM Communion service on Sundays, with an opportunity to join the Junior Church for those in Primary School during the service.
