Dear friends,
As we enter August, many of us find ourselves enjoying the slower pace of the summer months. While some take the opportunity for rest and holidays, the Church continues her faithful rhythm of worship, prayer, and fellowship, reminding us that God’s presence accompanies us wherever we may be.
August is often a quieter month in parish life, offering a chance to pause, reflect, and be renewed in faith. We remain grateful for the dedication of all who serve our parish throughout the year, including our choir, who will be taking a well-deserved summer break during August. We thank them for enriching our worship through their music and wish them a restful holiday.
This month also brings a special occasion as we celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Mothers’ Union with a Mass on 9 August. We give thanks for the faithful witness, service, and support that the Mothers’ Union has offered to families and communities over the years, and we join in celebrating this significant milestone.
Whether you are travelling, spending time with loved ones, or remaining at home, may this month be a time of refreshment and peace. And as summer continues, do remember to stay hydrated, keep cool where possible, and take care of yourselves.
At St Alban’s, August is a month of gratitude, renewal, and quiet faithfulness. We warmly invite you to continue sharing in the worship and life of our parish throughout the summer.
With every blessing,
The Parish of St Alban’s
