Dear friends,

October is Black History Month, a time to celebrate the faith, witness and contribution of the rich diversity and inclusivity of people throughout the life of the Church and our wider community.

It is also traditionally a month dedicated to Our Lady of the Rosary, whose feast we celebrate on 7 October. As we pray the Rosary and reflect on the life of Christ with Mary, we are reminded that the Gospel is for every people and every nation. This month gives us a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the richness and diversity of God’s family.

This Sunday we will also remember our brother in Christ, Samuel Ibitoye, on the first anniversary of his death. We look forward to welcoming members of his family to St Alban’s as we give thanks for his life and commend him once again to God’s loving mercy.

Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace. Amen.

With my prayers and every blessing,

Fr Sean
