Dear friends at St Alban’s,

Lent begins next week on Ash Wednesday, when we will gather for Mass and the imposition of ashes at 10am and 7pm (sung). This is a very important occasion for each of us as Christians, it marks the beginning of a holy season of repentance, prayer, fasting, and renewal. I encourage you to take this season of Lent seriously and to approach it with prayerful intention.

We are also looking forward to preparing for Lent together with an enormous feast after the parish Mass. Do bring food with you so that we can mark Shrove Tuesday with a big and joyful celebration before the fast begins.

Below is a link to a booklet that will be given out in church. It is intended as your guide to keeping a holy Lent at St Alban’s and in your own life. Do take time to look through it and begin preparing now—today—for the journey ahead.

In completely different news, we now have a new church website! You will also find the link below. I am very grateful to Natalie, who has worked hard to put it together, I pray that it will be a truly missional tool, showing all the wonderful things happening in our church community.

I look forward to seeing you this Sunday for the last Sunday in Ordinary Time (until June!).

God bless you,

Fr Sean
