Worship at St Alban's
The Mass, also known as the Eucharist, is the beating heart of worship at the church. The Mass is celebrated every day for the parish, the sick and suffering the community, our bishops and all faithful people. On Sunday we have hymns sung, heavenly incense and a joyful family feel. There are many opportunities to do more in our worship. You can be part of our serving team, a reader, a sidesperson, in the choir, our refreshment team…
More importantly you can simply pray with us.

What we believe:
- We are committed to the catholic faith as the Church of England received it, and to proclaiming it afresh in this generation.
- We uphold catholic order and the catholic doctrine of the Sacraments, and in particular the threefold ministry in historic succession, which the Church of England shares with the Church throughout the world and across the ages.
- We long for the visible unity of Christ’s Church, and especially for communion between the Church of England and the rest of the Western Church.

Not at all. Everyone is welcome at St Alban’s, regardless of your background, faith, or where you are in your spiritual journey. Whether you are a lifelong Christian, haven’t been to church in years, or are just curious, you are a welcome guest.
There is no dress code. On a typical Sunday, you will see people in everything from suits and traditional attire to jeans and t-shirts. Please wear whatever makes you feel comfortable.
Absolutely! Children are a vital part of our church family. We don’t mind a bit of noise or movement during the service—it’s the sound of a growing church. We also have a dedicated area with toys and books if your little ones need a break.
Yes. The main entrance to the church is accessible for wheelchair users and those with limited mobility. If you require any specific assistance, our stewards at the door will be more than happy to help.
Our Solemn Mass usually lasts about 60 to 75 minutes. It includes hymns, a sermon, and the celebration of the Eucharist (Holy Communion). Afterwards, many of us gather in the hall for tea and coffee, and we’d love for you to join us.
Baptised members of all Christian churches who are in good standing with their own tradition are welcome to receive the Sacrament. If you do not wish to receive Communion, you are very welcome to come forward for a blessing (simply keep your head bowed and cross your arms over your chest).
