Dear friends,
This Sunday we celebrate the feast of Corpus Christi.
Parish Mass is 10am, followed by an outdoor procession (weather permitting) and Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament.
Corpus Christi means “the Body of Christ.” We give thanks for Jesus’ presence in the Eucharist—given to nourish us and bring us together as one body. In a parish like ours, this reminds us that Christ is truly present among us, especially in those in need, and calls us to share his love in daily life.
The countdown also begins as Fr Joshua will be leaving us on St Alban’s Day, 21st June. I will be away on retreat next week, so please do take every opportunity to wish him well, and to receive the gift of the Eucharist from his own hands at Mass during the week.

Day Pilgrimage to St Alban’s Cathedral – CANCELLED
Due to a scheduling problem at the Abbey, we are unable to journey on pilgrimage on the 13th June. The trip is therefore cancelled. Hopefully it can be rescheduled for another date.
Sacred Heart of Jesus – Friday 12th June, 10am
Just as May is Mary’s Month, June is traditionally kept as the Sacred Heart of Jesus. The Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus is kept on this day.
Electrical Repair Party – Saturday 13th June, 1pm onwards
Also on this day you’re welcome to bring electrical items that are broken the Church. Fixers will be on hand to help you repair your broken electronics for free.
Divinitus Welcome Drinks – Saturday 13th June, 5.30pm in the church hall

Funeral of Daphene Cumberbatch RIP – Wednesday 17th June, 11.30am
There are some who remember Daphene who was a member of our church but has been care for the last several years. Her funeral will be in church and the committal is at South London Crematorium at 1.30pm. If you would like a lift, see Fr Sean.
Deanery Synod at St Alban’s – Thursday 18th June, 8pm
Volunteers please to help serve tea & coffee as we are hosting Deanery Synod.
Carroty Wood – Tuesday 27th October
Calling all young people from 8-17 years of age. If you would like to attend our one day retreat at Carroty Wood please collect an information sheet/ expression of interest from Jenny. Due to its popularity, spaces may be limited so don’t delay.
Ordination Season
Please keep those who will be ordained deacon and priest in your prayers, particularly Fr Antonio who will be ordained priest at St Michael’s, Croydon Saturday 4th July 10.30am, first mass the next day at 5pm. All are welcome!
St Alban’s Patronal Festival – 21st June, 10am
Fr Joshua’s last day at St Alban’s will be St Alban’s Patronal where he will celebrate and preach the Parish Mass followed by a party. In the days ahead we pray for Fr Joshua and wish him well with thanksgiving in all he has given us through the grace of God to our parish. He will be missed! We look forward to joining him at St Andrew’s 21st July 7.30pm for his licensing. All are welcome to both occasions.
